Who are best friends?
Best friends are known to be more like a family. The best friends are those who know your condition without a verbal conversation. Best friends are those who laugh with you but also does not hestitate to cry with you.The best friends are those who share secrets and foods with you. The best friends are those who always want the best for you. The best friends are those with whom you have a lifetime memory. The definition of a best friend is something that cannot be summed up in words, a paragraph, or a whole passage.

When we discuss a human’s best friend, we think humans are the only best friends of a human being; it can be a mother, father, sibling, male, female, or anyone else. But do humans only have humans as their best friends?

Animals have recently been shown to be the best friends of humans. For instance, cats, dogs, and many other animals. However, among all animals, dogs are more likely to be a man’s best friend. Way back in 1789, King Frederick of Prussia first used the term “a dog is a man’s best friend.” Dogs may not speak,  but their gestures clearly illustrate why they are called humans’ best friends. Many films have been made to celebrate the friendship between humans and dogs, such as Hachi, a dog’s tale, and Dakota, a Dog’s journey, and Charlie 777 is one of them. When it comes to proving their loyalty, dogs never step back and can even risktheir lives for humans. There are many incidents where dogs have proven their friendship.

In Lucknow, India, a dog owner engaged in an argument with his neighbor; when the neighbor opened fire on the dog owner, it was his dog who took the bullet for him and succumbed to injury, saving his owner’s life.

This is not the only incident; in Turkey, a pet dog waited for its owner to recover from illness outside a hospital for several days. Two years can really be long for someone to wait, especially when someone cannot return, but Mediciti Hospital, situated in Lalitpur, Nepal, has given shelter to a dog that has been waiting for its owner to return. The dog owner was brought to the hospital for treatment, but unfortunately the dog owner died. His body was taken outside through the other exit gate; unaware of the owner’s death, the dog remained outside, still waiting for its owner to return.

The term “best friend” is justified not only by humans, but also by animals.
