Aeroplane : Cause of death
Aeroplane, flight, aircraft, or plane is one such air transport that helps humans reach different locations while saving their time. It is one of the most convenient forms of air transportation. It is often used to travel to different countries or within the same country for vacations, business trips, educational trips, or any other occasion. It has made travel much easier. Aeroplanes are combined with engines, wings, propellers, and much more. The airplane is flown by a licensed and trained pilot. Apart from passengers on board, there are pilots and crew members who work inside and outside of the aircraft. The first flight was tested in 1903 by the Wright brothers. It was George Cayley’s concept from 1799 that helped with the invention of the aeroplane. With modernization, structures and facilities changed.
But with such an invention, it has become the cause of many deaths. One of the most fatal plane crashes that shook the world was on March 27, 1977, which saw the deaths of 583 passengers. Two Boeing 747 passenger jets collided on the runway of Los Rodeos Airport (now Tenerife North Airport). It is not just one incident; there are many such incidents that have killed numerous people worldwide.
Nepal is one such country, known for its culture, heritage, natural beauty, different cuisines, and much more. Tourism in Nepal has increased in recent years as people from different countries enjoy the beautiful scenery of the country. Mount Everest, or Sagarmatha, has attracted many mountaineers and climbers. People visit Nepal for religious purposes as well. There are many alternative methods of travel throughout Nepal, but one of them is by airplane. Nepal currently owns different domestic airlines, which include Buddha Air, Yeti Air, Guna Air, Shree Air, Tara Air, etc. High altitude airport or weather There are numerous challenges that Nepal’s aviation faces. After witnessing the first plane landing in 1949, Nepal has experienced many flight accidents.
On September 11, 2011, Buddha Air crashed, killing all 22 people, including 10 Indian citizens. Similarly, on July 12, 2012, a Sita Air flight carrying 19 people on board crashed while making an emergency landing. On February 16, 2016, Tara Air Flight 193, carrying 23 passengers, went missing after 8 minutes of takeoff. After a search operation, wreckage was found, but no one was found alive. In recent time, on May 10, 2022, Tara Air went missing after taking off from Pokhara. Flight was on its way to Jomsom, but they lost contact with the air traffic controller after a few minutes of takeoff. After some time, their wreckage was found, in which 22 people lost their lives.
It was merely a year after this incident that another domestic aircraft crashed near Pokhara. 72 people were on board, including pilots and crew members. The flight was on its way to Pokhara from Kathmandu. Nepal army officials are rescuing and recovering bodies from the crash site.
The question that arises here is : who is responsible for it? Government officials ? Nepal aviation industry : common people Pilots ? Who ?
Why are these old planes still being used ?
Even after so many incidents, why isn’t anyone checking for defaults ?
Is it so easy to lose your life in Nepal ?
Questions were there, questions are there, and questions will always be there.
